The Mac Heist Website

If your looking for current software for the Mac at a bargain basement price then the Mac Heist website is a great website to belong to.

READ ON…

Mac Heist function is to notify you when a bundle of software is available for purchase at a rediculous price. Meaning that you get a $260 dollar value for $19.95. And proceeds goes to a charity or charities you select. It is one of my favorite sites. I got this product called MacJournal from MacHeist on March 3rd 2010 along with 4 other softwares for $19.95 and the cost of Mac Journal alone was $40.00. No membership fees are required.

I have used it twice and love it. You register and you get an email of the offers.

WARNING: These offers are for a limited time to purchase. Usually 14 days.

The software you purchase is on a separate web page and you get to keep the webpage to download the software anytime. This is legitimate software! You get a ligitimate license for each software purchase. NO Demos only…

This months list include the following: as of March 4th 2010

  • MacJournal – Ultimate Journal with Password and Blogging
  • RipIt – DVD Ripper

  • Flow – FTP
  • CoverScout – Album Covers

February 12, 2010 Leave a comment

Here is a tip.
To see what Active Directory Groups that a User belongs to you go to the Communicator and add the user. Once in the screen you right click on the user name and then pick PROPERTIES. Once in PROPERTIES you select “MEMBER OF” and it will tell you all the AD Groups the user is in.

Creating Mac Services

November 9, 2009 Leave a comment

I was up working on creating some Mac services. Snow Lepard now has improved Services. A Services shows up when you right click a file or even words in a document. They can be shared.

You bring up the application in Snow Lepard called Automator. Automator now has templates. One of the templates are for Service.

Email me or go to:

For download of example services go to:

Pair Notes for the Mac

October 22, 2009 Leave a comment

Pair Notes is a note taking software for the Mac. It records audio and or video while you take notes in a wordprocesser. What makes this product unique is that as you are recording a lecture or meeting, the notes you take on the word processer are in sync with the audio. This allows you during playback of the audio to click on the notes and the audio is fast foward to when you entered the keystones of the notes.
If you are confused about what I just wrote then check out the video demo on the Pear Note website UsefulFruit
Blog you soon,
Steven K James
