MacMost Website and Podcast are a Must

At 1-800-The-Nerd, some of our people, including myself, watch daily on our Apple TV the Apple Store’s version of the MacMost Podcast. Its a real joy to see Gary Rosenzweig tell us in a very quit format, 5 minutes, how to do something in the Mac environment.

We thank Gary for all of his hard work. Tweet Him @MacMost

By the way… Gary has an iPhone App called “MacMost” which puts his podcast, latest news, rumors, featured iPhone Apps, quick tips, and more.

Kudos’ to Gary… I hope to meet you someday and shake your hand for the dedication and business spirit you have.

Sincerely,
Steven K James, CEO

How to Create an Audio Podcast using Mac OS

February 3, 2010 Leave a comment

Create an Audio Podcast using GarageBand, Fetch, WordPress.com, FeedBurner.com and iTunes Store.
This is my first Podcast using GarageBand (Mac), Fetch(ftp for Mac), WordPress (http://blog.1800thenerd.com), FeedBurner.com and iTunes.

First you must create the Audio Podcast using the Mac to create to end up on your blog and also show up in the iTune Store (iTS). You can then subscribe for it to give you current posts.

I created the audio podcast using the MacBook Pro and GarageBand which has a Podcast template. You can watch the video on GarageBand to see how the Podcast is made and saved. I added the into music to mine.

Then you have to save the file in mp3 format. When your done you need to ftp it to a site that will store the mp3 file. I stored mine on my NetworkSolutions website under a directory I created called PODCAST. I used the ftp software called Fetch for the Mac.

Your RSS Feed is called: http://blog.1800thenerd.com/feed. You need to go to your iTune Store (iTS) account and go to Podcast and enter in the above url into the text box that Apple iTunes Store expects.

You must encapsulate your Podcast with brackets and the word audio: To use it within WordPress you need to have it in an mp3 file format.
